Toshiba NB205 Netbook Review

prod_NB205-SBTW_300-01I have been using my new netbook for over a week now. I have nothing but good things to say about the Toshiba NB205 netbook. At first I wanted a full size notebook because I was worried I have trouble doing web development related work on a netbook. So far however, this netbook has held its own.

Basic Toshiba NB205 Stats:
Intel® Atom™ Processor N280
Genuine Windows® XP Home Edition (SP3)
1GB DDR2 533MHz memory (Upgraded mine to 2GB)
160GB HDD (5400rpm)

This netbook has held its own. It runs programs I use frequently such as Filezilla with no effort. I did tons of research before choosing this particular netbook. The price was $399.99 at my local Office Depot. However, if you look around and wait for special deals on sites such as Amazon you can get it cheaper.

The keyboard and track pad give a perfect feel and it is not uncomfortable one bit. The other netbook I was considering was the Samsung 120 however the mouse buttons on the track pad were terrible as far as the look and feel.

The only possible things that this netbook may lack is the web camera attached to the top. But for your average Skype conference calls I don’t think anyone will notice/care if its not a full multi pixel camera.

I am actually greatly considering not getting a desktop computer at all. This super light and small computer may be the only one I need! For the price it really is the best buy! Go to a local electronics store and check one out yourself.

  1. It seems like a pretty solid looking netbook. I know I myself have considered buying a similar one as I have had a good life out of my Toshiba Notebook.

  4. Possibly. Very likely. The reason is, Toshiba, which supplies the 16 GB and 32 GB NAND flash memory module to Apple, has just announced a 64 GB NAND flash package. Mass production of the 64GB module will begin in Q1 2010– it makes sense to believe that…
